In 1994, I received my BS in Accounting and Finance at George Mason University and worked in Corporate Accounting for over 20 years. During that time, I worked for a Cooperative in Northern VA where I was responsible for providing consolidated financial statements needed to make critical business decisions. At the same time, I had a few personal clients that I was doing the books for just to make extra money. That side of things grew so fast that I decided it was time to start a business for myself! In the fall of 2013, I quit my job and opened Yield.
It became clear that there were hardly any reputable bookkeeping companies in this area. There were people doing it on the side in the evening or there were CPA’s that were charging a TON of money.
Once word got out that this business was up and running the calls just kept coming in and I realized I had found quite a niche in the DC area.

We have grown exponentially over the past 7 years and currently have 12 employees and over 200 clients! Jodi Carey
I graduated from the State University of New York at Buffalo in 1988 with a Bachelors’ degree in business administration and a minor in accounting. Shortly after graduating, I moved to northern Virginia where I worked in accounting for over 25 years.
The majority of the 25 years were spent at NRTC, a cooperative in Herndon, VA as the accounting manager, where I met Rochelle. As the accounting manager, I was responsible for overseeing the day to day activities of the accounting department such as A/P, A/R, financial statements, variance analyses, budgeting and patronage capital. In March 2014, my husband and I moved to southwest Florida and I started working for Yield Bookkeeping in November 2014.
Rochelle and I are quite familiar with each of our strengths and work to ensure that our clients receive the utmost professional and economical bookkeeping services possible.
Leslie Musick
I was born in Arizona and moved to Northern Virginia when I was 5. I have lived in the area since that time and have worked as an accounting professional for 30 years.
I have experience in numerous industries including construction, telecom, tradeshow, publishing and healthcare. I worked for Nielsen Business Media for over 10 years. Most recently I worked for Inova Health Systems. My job skills include A/P, A/R, all types of reconciliations, preparing financial statements, financial analysis, payroll and human resources.
I have a lot of knowledge and experience that I bring to clients in regards to both corporate accounting and small business bookkeeping.
Judy Bulman
Judy came to us from a CPA firm where she worked on many client’s books using Quickbooks Desktop and Online. She has 25 years experience working with small businesses including setting up new businesses with accounting systems. She resides in WV with her family.
Addison Craun
With a Master’s in accounting, Addison has over 15 years in high-level analytical experience, primarily focused in the tech, govcon, and aerospace industries. She specializes in complex ad-hoc reporting, job costing, and DCAA compliance.
She currently resides in Alexandria VA with her 2 year old daughter and her two dogs.
Astrid Batista
Based in the DMV area, Astrid Batista is one of our senior bookkeepers with over 8 years of relevant experience in the preparation, analysis and reporting of financial performance of businesses in various industries.
Astrid is a proficient QuickBooks user with both the online and desktop version. She is a detail oriented, fast paced and organized individual.
Astrid is also fluent in Spanish as well English.
David Hempel
David comes to Yield with a BS in Accounting and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed in Virginia.
His specialty is Non Profit companies but is proficient in bookkeeping for any industry.
He resides in Burke with his wife and three children.
David also is growing his own firm and is currently filing tax returns for clients at dhempel@dhcpapllc.com.
Ursula Uriarte
Ursula comes to Yield from Miami, Florida. She has over 12 years of experience with bookkeeping for companies from many different industries.
She is an expert at QuickBooks – both Desktop and Online. She is a dedicated, resourceful leader determined to provide excellence in account management.
Ursula is also fluent in English and Spanish. She also is advanced intermediate in Norwegian writing and speaking.
Anne Munro
Karen Campbell
Karen was raised in a military family and lived in various states growing up. She received her BS in Accounting from Newberry College in South Carolina. She has over 30 years of experience working in the private sector for various companies in various industries. For the last 5 years she has been working in small local CPA firms preparing small business and individual income tax returns. She has a strong background in general ledger accounting and years of experience using QuickBooks.
